Welcome to the Watch the Manual blog. Recently, I've come to terms to with the fact that I spend more time noodling with my gear and reading the manuals than actually producing and recording music with it. I like getting new gear, and I enjoy learning how to use it. Usually this means diving into manuals and spending countless hours twiddling knobs. Unfortunately this means I'm not writing music and completing songs. This means I'm not going to be a rock star, but perhaps I can do this for a living? I enjoy writing, teaching, presenting and being an absolute gear slut. In this blog, I will be posting tutorials on how dive deep into the functionality of some of my favorite pieces of gear. I will present content in useful, not overly technical way. If you're just starting out learning some of the pieces i choose to work on, my goal is to save you time. I want you making music, not reading the manual.
